Laurie York

Laurie York

Laurie York writes about what she knows and where she's been. She was born on March 17th, 1979 in Dallas, Texas, and lived in Austin for a number of years.

While attending the University of Texas, she began bumming around coffee houses, and bumbling her way through her first open mics.

After graduating with degrees in History and Classics, she embarked on a road trip through the American West, up to Oregon and Washington, and then wandered off the continent to Korea, China and Japan.

Laurie's poetry is about the strange and fascinating people she's met on the winding road of life and love. She writes about what we lose along the way and how we recover ourselves.
