Hilary Scott
Some might say you need to take a little Sarah McLachlan, a drop of Beth Orton, a dab of Ani DiFranco and a splash of
India Arie, and you MIGHT come up with a notion of what Hilary Scott sounds like. Others might say you still wouldn't be
capturing her unique sound; a blend of folk, rock, blues and classical influences that have been bubbling inside of this
up-and-coming artist since she began playing instruments and singing at the age of four.
Hilary has always been a writer
and poet, and she sets her stories to a lush and varied musical landscape that includes the guitar, piano, and violin she
herself plays with the unusual instrumentation of her other band members, including Djembe and harmonica. Fans say
they can relate to her music on a very personal level, as she is the type of performer that draws you in with her confessions
and sincerity.
With two solo releases, a new full-band release entitled "The Floating World" which is being released under
the Seattle-based indy label Belltown Records, a live studio album currently being mixed, and plans to tour the midwest
and beyond, Hilary Scott is busy spreading her sound to others. There's a little something here for everyone, no matter
what your story.
