At the age of 10, Dido Armstrong was already playing piano, violin, and the recorder (her first one
she stole when she was 5.)
When she was 16, she discovered Ella Fitzgerald. This began her transformation
from music listener to performer
She spent the next few years touring with various bands in London, including her
brother's band, Faithless. She then began recording demos of her own in her free time.
Arista records heard a could of songs from Faithless' CD and asked for a meeting with her.
She recorded her debut album "No Angel" which was released in 1999.
