Dani Linnetz
"Coming into her own as a distinctive songwriting personality, Dani Linnetz emerges as an empowered and confident artist. Linnetz displays an impressive confidence and control of her craft, having fully harnessed the strengths of her considerable vocal gifts and mastered the dynamic of stripped down songwriting. She catalogues a series of past and present grievances, yet skillfully avoids painting herself as the stereotypical jaded female." -Matt Fink, All Music Guide
In the past 4 years Dani has called Los Angeles, New York City and San Francisco all home. Each city has inspired multitudes of songs and a serious inability to stay in one place too long. Not such a bad thing when you consider that in the past year alone (2002-2003) she has toured through CA. AZ, NM, TX OR, NJ, PA and NY. All the while keeping her home cities thoroughly and regularly entertained.
With influences ranging from Ella to The Cure, Patty Griffin to The Pixies and far beyond, Dani's songwriting is a comfortable mixture of pop, rock, folk, blues, and country topped with her unique soulful vocals. Simple, honesty songs played with just an acoustic guitar and the power of her voice.
Dani is a performing member of Indiegrrl, DivaBands, GoGirls Music.com and Women in Rock and her latest full-length release, The Milk, was awarded a listener's choice award for best Independent CD of 2001 at kweevak.com. You can hear her on college and public radio stations from Santa Barbara to Austin and beyond.
