"This Singapore-born, Berklee-educated songwriter combines the haunting
otherworldliness of artists like Sarah McLachlan and Sting with the open
veracity of Joni Mitchell. May's voice is instantly intoxicating - beautiful
and adept, but never needlessly showy."
- Performing Songwriter Magazine.
Corrinne May started classical piano lessons at 6 and quickly drove her
piano teacher up the wall by not practicing her classical piano pieces,
insisting instead on making up her own pop tunes at the piano. This came in
handy when she won her first songwriting competition at 15.
Corrinne recently made the move from her native Singapore to the music hub
of Los Angeles, co-wrote a song via the internet with Carole King and
Carole Bayer Sager, and released a self-titled debut album. Her CD was
named the "Best Contemporary Album" in the Just Plain Folks Music Awards
2003.
She is currently working on her second album "Superhero Little Girl". Listen
