What's New on Collected Sounds
October 2005

News

Here's what is new on Collected Sounds for the month of October, 2005

Hello everyone and welcome to my favorite time of year, and it's not just because my birthday is this month. I just love the leaves and all their pretty colors, the smell of the leaves, the chill in the air, pumpkin pie, hot cocoa, and bonfires....mmmmmm...love it!!

Ways you can help out the site:

*Make a donation to Collected Sounds

*Get yourself some smokin' Collected Sounds Merchandise. I have added the mini buttons. And really those hoodies are the most comfy thing...

Let me know if there's any other kind of merch you would like. I can always add things to the store. Thong perhaps?

Be sure to check out our Forums (Message Boards) Collected Sounds Community

Thanks for visiting...enjoy October!

House Concerts

I am purposly sending this newsletter a little late so that I can have some photos ready for the show we had on Saturday October 1, 2005.

Gregory Douglass - [Click here for short review, set list and photos]

Upcoming Shows

Jodi Shaw- will be gracing our living room in December 10, 2005. I've been a fan of Jodi's since her CD, "The Pie-Love Sky" was sent to me two years ago. I still listen to it religiously. It's one of the best CDs I've gotten in the last 5 years. I'm more than excited to hear these songs live. Plus, her new CD, "Snow on Saturn", will be available at the show!! I've just received it, and it's great! Go here to hear some clips.
For more info check out: [Jodi's show page]

We are already starting to book our 2006 shows! So far the only one confirmed is:

Julie Loyd with special guest, Brianna Lane- [Julie and Brianna's show page]
Julie performed here back in July of 2005. She put on a really fun show, she's a very dynamic performer. Use that link to also go to the page for the last show if you didn't attend and want to know more about that one.

We have no other dates confirmed, but the artists in the line up are: Rachael Sage, Anne Heaton, Sam Shaber, Pamela Means, and Edie Carey!! This is going to be a great season!! Some old favorites and some new artists I'm sure you will love.

New/Updated Spotlights

Our artist spotlight of the month is Olga Salamanca.
Although difficult to describe, Olga's musical style has been compared to Fiona Apple, Mazzy Star, and Portishead. Olga conveys a musical honesty that is truly rare. Her voice and songs captivate any audience with the simplicity of just her and an acoustic guitar. Olga now plays with a full band adding a rich flavor that would tempt any palate.

New Interviews

I had my interview with Dar Williams
- She was lovely and sweet and made me feel at ease. Not an easy task calm down this drooling fan-girl. [Read the interview here]

If you haven't already gotten your copy of "My Better Self" check out the review (there's a "get it" link there too)

New Concert Reviews

Sorry, I didn't go to any concerts in September. I was a shut in, I guess. Remember if any of you go to shows, you can always write up a little review and shoot it off to me! I'll post it!
