What's New on Collected Sounds
June 2006

News

Here's what is new on Collected Sounds for the month of June 2006

Hi kids

Sorry this is a little late…I kind of forgot that it was the beginning of the month. So let's get down to it shall we? Hope you all are having a nice spring/summer so far. It's been hotter than Hades here in Minneapolis and now it's rainy, but that's better than hot (of course, only in my opinion).

There have been a lot of great shows coming through and tomorrow I will be seeing KT Tunstall so I'll have a review up soon for that (I hope).

One thing I want to mention is a record I'm kind of obsessed with right now, it's called The Mating Game and the band is Bitter Sweet (not to be confused with The Bittersweets who, while good, are nothing like Bitter Sweet). This band is kind of trip-hop. Think Portishead mixed with 60s lounge music. Delicious. I haven't reviewed them officially, but you can check out their page on My Space

Or get the record at Amazon

House Concerts

Gregory Douglass on June 17, 2006.

Our next house concert is on June 17, 2006 and features Gregory Douglass and Anne Deming. Both have played Collected Sounds series before so you know they're both great since we're having them back!

Anne will be opening and will be playing her great folk/blues/rock songs with her drummer Chadly.

Gregory will be serenading us on piano and guitar (we might even get to hear him on a real piano!) with his fantastic alt.pop songs. For more info on the show please click [HERE]

Updated/New Spotlights

New Spotlight on band, Remote Impact.
This band was previously known as Joanne Elizabeth, but since the band changed the name, we gave 'em a new spotlight.

I've updated Vienna Teng's page as well. She's got some great new photos (hello! Hottie!) and some album info.
