News Here's what is new on Collected Sounds for the month of December 2006 Hi my fellow music lovers! First I want to thank all of you who nominated Collected Sounds for website of the year for PLUG - Independent Music Awards. We didn't make it, but I know a bunch of you did nominate and I thank you very much. (no one I nominated got in either). We'll git 'em NEXT YEAR!!! The blog is growing. I know that we have a lot of readers (I can see stats) but we don't have a lot of commenters. So come visit, make some comments. Come on, it'll be fun!  Spotlight Artist Since I don't have a new artist to tell you about yet, I thoguht I'd pull out and update and oldie but a goodie because I love her so much. Plus she ahs a new record out and what I've heard of it is wonderful. Shawn Colvin is our Spotlight Artist of the Month. [See her spanky new Spotlight] New photo, new links, new info...glorious. House Concerts The January show we were going to have wtih Gregory ended up moving to February when we couldn't do it. So while he's still coming to town to play, the show won't be at our house. But we're trying to get him in the Spring of 07. We're beginning to fill up 2007 already! Here's what's confirmed: February: Brianna Lane is coming back (wooo-hoo!) and this time she'll be joined by Ellery. They are a husband-wife duo from Ohio who play a great, unique brand of acoustic alternative folk. They've recently been signed by Collected Sounds friend and favorite, Virt Records (former home to Vienna Teng). Ellery was also discovered on Collected Sounds!
March: Shauna Burns I've been a fan of Shauna's CD, Every Thought since the second I heard it. I'm very excited to have her perform in my home.
June: Brianna Lane is soon becoming our most booked artist! On June 16th time she will be joined by Adrianne (they're playing seperate show, but on the same night). I've been hooked on Adrianne's
music since I heard her samper CD that someone sent me a few years ago. So I'm anxious to hear her live. Her records are great!
Again, I have some more artists interested who have "claimed' months, and I would LOVE to host them but frankly, attendance has been well, let’s just say less than I’m happy with lately so I am not booking any more until people start coming again.
