News
Here's what is new on Collected Sounds for the month of December, 2004
November was a huge month for Collected Sounds as far as visitors go. We broke the 22,000 visitor mark! (That's visitors, not hits. Hits were 398,840.) This is just how many people logged onto Collected Sounds for the month of November. I'm pretty excited. Seeing as a year ago at this time the visitors monthly total was around 13 thousand.
Please indulge me in a little statistics: Total visitors were 22,480 which breaks down to about 749 people per day visiting the site.
Seems the pages people are viewing the most are the main page, then the review of "Falling" by Anat Damon, then Vanessa Carlton's Spotlight, then the Dresden Dolls.
Interesting. Quite a mixed bag, huh? OK done with the statistics, I find this stuff really interesting. Thanks for humoring me.
So for those of you looking for musical related Holiday gifts for your loved ones, here's something fun you can do…
Go to the CD Reviews Main page and do a search. You can search for anything. Like if your grandma likes Norah Jones (and really, who's grandma doesn't?) you can type that in. Any artist who had a review done that was compared to Norah Jones will come up and you can read through them and choose a CD for Grandma.
You can also search for words like "dream pop" "mainstream" "psychedelic" or anything, and it will bring up a list of CD reviews where those words have been used then you can select from there.
Or you can Search th CD Baby page in the same way and get more results.
I highly recommend CD Baby for your CD needs. They don't sell Avril Lavigne or Britney, but they sell those artists that came before them, are in some cases, *gasp* better than them, and who work really hard to get their music out there. You'll be pleasantly surprised at the vast amount of amazing music to be found there. Plus by buying from CD Baby using my links you will be supporting not only Independent musicians but also Collected Sounds, which needs all the support it can get. Trust me.

...as usual... I am still asking for visitors to submit CD or concert reviews for the site. It doesn't even have to be a performer
that I spotlight, just one that you like. A few requirements are that the women featured must be "total artists" and by that I mean
they must write their own music. Not necessarily ALL their own, collaborations are fine and a few covers are fine, but primarily
their music must be their own. So if there is a CD that you just can't seem to get out of your CD player or a show that you can't
stop raving about, please write up a little something and send it to me
Thanks for your support. Please keep visiting and sending me your suggestions, requests, etc...
