Here's what is new on Collected Sounds for the month of August 2006

Hi my fellow music lovers!

I hope the rest of you are not as hot as we are here in Minneapolis. Egads. It's so hot the "cold" water in the tap comes out hot. Seriously. And I even have air conditioning. I think the dogs are going to melt. 101 degrees (F) with 70% humidity? No thank you!!

New Feature: I've started to do Mini Album reviews. That's mini-reviews, not reviews of mini-albums...however, when I get EPs I will sometimes review them here. Please Check it out. I've created a page that explains the reasoning. There *is* a method to my madness.

New Spotlights

Collected Sounds' Spotlight Artist of the Month is...

Halie Loren - Halie's live performances highlight her intense emotional outpouring and commanding stage presence. She has headlined full bands in front of thousands, spiced up jazz trios in intimate club settings, and brought down the house at musical festivals. She also plays solo, with her trusty keyboard as her only companion, including showcases in New York City, Nashville and in Seattle.

House Concerts

We hosted the talented and hilarious Edie Carey on July 22, 2006.

Brianna Lane opened (and did a couple of numbers with Edie) and she was equally charming and fun. The A/C blew a fuse so the house was pretty darn hot with 30+ folks in it, but it was still a fun time.

Next up is the boa-wearing glitter girl, Rachael Sage! We are so excited to have her back. This year we're also throwing a Halloween party after the show so hope some of you can join us for that.
