Hi there!
Here's what's new on Collected Sounds. This is a bit later than usual but I was on vacation for the last couple of weeks of March and
forgot I didn't do this yet!
Thanks for visiting…enjoy April!
News
Terami Hirsch is touring again and I'm happy to announce that she will be performing once again at my humble abode. This time, however it will be indoors as it is this month and it's still a bit chilly here in Minneapolis. The show will be on Monday April 28th and will begin around 7pm. The cost is $10, which goes directly to the artists. Opening act is Natalie Wattre who is touring with Terami this time. Kevin (Terami's partner in music and in life) will not be joining her so it will be a bit more acoustic. So if you are in the area or plan to be on April 28th and you would like to see this show, please email me (Here) to make reservations. Please do so soon, if you wait I can't guarantee that we'll have space.
Also on Tuesday evening, April 29th, Terami will make her way to Toledo while touring the Midwest. Show will begin around 7 pm. If you are in that area please email Lynn at DLynngarrett@aol.com to make reservations.
I have added a new section to the site for all the Collected Sounds upcoming shows. Check it out HERE
Jaia Suri featured in PERFORMING SONGWRITER MAGAZINE,
Top 12 DIY, Issue #68, Spring 2003:
"As strange and dark and slippery as a Baudelaire poem or a Flannery
O'Connor novel, Jaia Suri's somnolent, haunted songs are the music one hears in one's dreams. Anxiously plunking banjo sparsely accompanies acoustic poems whose metaphors are purely every day, but sung in the most ethereal tones. Suri's voice is a combination of Joni Mitchell's intellectual grace, Ani DiFranco's brash fire and Joan Baez's otherworldly purity. Her songs, while graceful in their language, are surprisingly plainspoken. She sings about Blockbuster, Coca-Cola, Britney Spears, and the soullessness of strip-mall America. She sings about her friends, she sings about the weather-and it's all lovely and moving."

While on vacation in California I was lucky enough to see two of my favorite performers, Terami Hirsch and Vienna Teng perform live. The show was at
the Global Village Cafe in Mountain View, CA and it was WONDERFUL! If you ever have a chance to see etiher of these women perform
jump at it.

Please support this site,
visit the Collected Sounds store for all your merchandise needs!
…as usual…
I am still asking for visitors to submit CD or concert reviews for the site. It doesn't even have to be a performer that I spotlight, just one that you like.
A few requirements are that the women featured must be "total artists" and by that I mean they must write their own music.
Not necessarily ALL their own, collaborations are fine and a few covers are fine, but primarily their music must be their own.
So if there is a CD that you just can't seem to get out of your CD player or a show that you can't stop raving about, please write up
a little something and Contact Me
Thanks and keep visiting and sending me your suggestions, requests, etc...
