 Wooing the Lorelei
by Mary Morton

a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Mary Morton has a nice retro jazz thing going on this record. She writes all the songs and her lyrics are sharp and clever.

“Perfect Ten” starts off with nice piano and soulful crooning. “You’re A plus nonpareil; the cat’s pajamas and meow as well” she sings echoing “You’re the top”.

The funny “Karalyn” celebrates the world’s “sexiest sexagenarian librarian” and her allure. It’s done with effortless charm and set to a samba tune.

“An Odd Fit” celebrates romance despite adversity. Morton trills as gorgeously as ever miss Peggy Lee did.

Elsewhere we get a song called text and subtext and one called your slave, dear.

She has made stunning album for romantics and fans of good lyrics all over.
