a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
Lisa Knapp records folk songs with a slight twist.
There’s a modern production and an emphasis on her stunning vocals.
“Blacksmith” gets rendered lovingly and with a wonderful vocal.
“Beggar Beggar” is a sweet and lovely version with a nice mood even if the tale is sad.
Knapp’s vocal presence reminds me of the equally unaffected Kathryn Williams.
The title song uses a string arrangement beautifully and gives the song real soul.
Knapp’s own song “Little Bird” is summery and sweet.
Lisa Knapp’s debut is a refreshing listen.
