a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
Amy Tobin and Kevin Carnes make up this band.
Their music is as uncommon as these things get.
Tobin’s made a rock opera about the Biblical heroine Esther and starts this album with “Esther’s prologue”.
“Shipwreck” is a wry tale of lost virginity in a tango style.
“Stories of the Road” is a lovely, haunted moment. Tobin sings beautifully and the music’s soft.
“Choosing Sides” is against the current U.S administration and musically its very Kurt Weill.
“Oblivious” is a dense rocker with a phenomenal vocal.
This is a dynamic, electric record.
