 "Were You Prom Queen?"
by Lindsay Smith

a Review by Amy Producer of Collected Sounds

OK I knew I'd like this when I saw the CD Cover and title…and I was right. This is a really cool recording. Lindsay Smith is somewhere between pop/folk and punk. The songs are smart, funny and good to bounce along to. I bet she's a blast live as well.

One Fish Two Fish's chorus borrows its rhyme and meter from Dr. Seuss (as you may have guessed). It's a cute punky little number referring to the "many other fish in the sea" saying. Very clever lyrics:

"Ms. Magazine says I should stand tall
Cause I don't really need a man at all
But for Me, if I could have just one wish
I'd get a bicycle to go with my fish"

There are some more folky songs on here as well; "New England" and "Are You Sleeping" to name a couple. She's just as good at this style as she is at the harder stuff.

This is a great recording that I'm sure I'll enjoy for some time.
