 "The Ways We Try"
by Birdie Busch

a Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

There is a definite Americana twang to some of these songs. They also have a bit of an old style feel. Sort of back porch. This is a very home-y record.

The songs well-written, catchy and range from rockin' to sweet.

"South Philly" shows Birdie Busch's vocal talent. She really sounds like Sarah Harmer to me. But that's OK especially since Sarah has apparently taken up Bluegrass.

You know I love a song called "Drunk by Noon". It's actually very pretty. Simple, yet lovely.

The guitar seem to be the instrument of choice, but there is some nice piano on "Old Fashioned Way".

"The Ways We Try" has a nice rhythm and makes the listener want to move.

This is really a nice record. Give it a shot if you like that sort of home-spun feel.
