 "Water To The Dead"
by Ego Likeness

a Review by Sarah Bernardi

Imagine a world where darkness, dance, and heavy guitars mesh together with male and female vocals. Since 1999, Ego Likeness, consisting of Donna Lynch and Steve Archer has been creating their own intoxicating blend of instrumental electronic rock.

Their recent release "Water to the Dead" is a fine showcase of their unique artistic vision. The album opens with "Water to the Dead", in which we are introduced to a fast-paced rock oriented tale that flows with Donna's vocals and words. "16 Miles" is another classic track that displays Donna's wonderful vocal stylings. "Above the Soil" starts beautifully with only a piano and Steve's vocals, making for a melancholy yet intense track.

The entire album flows nicely, combining powerful words and intelligent musical arrangements to complement each other. The album finale, "Wayfaring Stranger" has an ambient vibe to it, as Donna's lilting voice echoes through the quiet sounds.

I highly recommend this album as it is diverse, and has many musical elements in it. Please take the time to visit www.egolikeness.com to listen to song samples, and view other projects from the band.
