a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
I’ve reviewed Annie Moscow’s previous release many moons ago.
Her follow up is a lovely record too, and her songwriting abilities are intact.
“Through a Clouded Lens” is a smart song, Moscow singing of being a pessimist to an upbeat backing.
“House of cards” is a pretty song, Moscow singing of life being imperfect with conviction. The song gains pathos with its intricate arrangement.
“You won’t See Me” by the Beatles gets coved nicely and a neat Joni Mitchell song, “Michael from the Mountains” gets a reading too.
I’m not sure what to call her music, it’s not remotely mainstream, but accessible all the same.
She has a lovely voice and her imaginative songs really deserve getting heard.
