 "Spaghetti Midwestern"
by Pamela Richardson

a Review by Amy Producer of Collected Sounds

First I have to say I love the title. The lo-fi cover photo is equally charming (that is Bill the SpokesCow and he's admiring the Tofu Spaghetti...the recipe for which you can find on the website).

Richardson has a sort of kindergarten teacher feel and look about her. But this is reassuring to me because so does Christine Lavin and I think she's incredible. I will say that I was expecting this recording to be funnier, possibly because of my own personal Lavin connection, but this is a clever recording even if it doesn't' have me in stitches.

"Though the Window" sounds like it was plucked right out of the 60s-70s folk scene. (think, "A Mighty Wind" without all the cheese).

The songs speak/sing of love and loss and other various live experiences. They're well written and performed. If you like old folk you will probably dig "Spaghetti Midwestern"
