Songs to Undress Your Ego
by David D'Alessio

a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

I’ve reviewed an album by Kelley Dolan and here she produces and plays in the background.

David D'Alessio is a talented songwriter in his own right and his debut is a wonderful listen. His voice is soft and the melodies immediate.

“Savor The Cold” might bring the laidback cool of but D’Alessio has his own twist on it.

“Lines Uncertain” has a great backing vocal bit by Dolan and a great lead. The song's melancholy and antiwar message are highly affecting.

Love is on the way” has a relaxed, Californian sound and seems tailor made for the radio.

“Year on Mars” is another great song, D’Alessio reaching plaintive heights and recalling Damien Rice.

D’Alessio’s debut is a thoroughly lovely record and I hope it gets heard by many.
