a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
Cecile Corbel is a young harpist keen on modernizing folk music and on her new album she succeeds. Her versions of Breton and Irish tunes are vibrantly alive and fresh.
Her own "Le vent m'emporte" sees her use her instrument beautifully and sing like a siren.
Many have sung "She Moved Through The Fair" but Corbel's version has a fresh charm to it and a string arrangement that feels novel.
The pretty "Blackbird" sees her vocals sound like Loreenna McKennitt.
A lovely "Red Rose" based on Robert Burns poem is another highlight.
Corbel is a real find.
