Somewhere Near the Truth by Camille Miller

Camille Miller’s previous release, which I reviewed here, was a lovely pop record. Her new effort doesn’t disappoint either. Miller pens great songs and her voice is pleasant to hear.

Tear Us Apart has a lovely melody and sounds like a sizeable radio hit. Miller’s vocals hit the right spot and the instrumentation suits the song.

Spin the Bottle is poppy and recalls Juliana Hatfield with its infectious tune and bright beat.

Believe is another great song with a stirring choirs. It sounds like another candidate for a smart radio station to play.

The title track comes along and is nostalgic tribute to childhood heroes. Ray Davies gets name checked and the album’s gorgeous front cover echoes the sixties vibe too.

Camille Miller’s about contemporary things too and her album is great.

**Amy's Note; I also got this one for review and I liked it very much too. Just haven't gotten around to writing much about it, but I do like Tea and Sandwiches which is really fun and marchy. Also Tear Us Apart is very ear-catching. It's made me look to my cd player a few times to see who is playing (I shuffle).
