 "Ship of Fate"
by Elya Finn

a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Elya Finn is Russian and her roots affect her debut record. Unusual rhythms and very radio-friendly melodies are found her, complimenting her lightly accented voice.

"Miralaya" is a danceable, bright song. She sings it sweetly as the exotic rhythm moves.

"The Fair" has a touch of cabaret about it. Finn seems at home with that too.

"Tell Me Why" is a sweet little ballad.

"True Love Never Should End" is as sad as the title implies. Finn sings beautifully here.

"Ship of Fate" is great; a hushed, elegiac ballad with a fairy tale atmosphere.

"San Fransisco" is sung in Russian and is an up-tempo disco strut.

Elya Finn's debut is assured and lovely.
