Stacie Rose knows how to put out a great pop/rock album. In 2003 I reviewed her CD, "This is Mine". I said she reminded me of a more mature Michelle Branch.
I actually don't hear than anymore, but that could be because I haven't heard Ms. Branch in years. That's not to say that Stacie Rose does not have the radio appeal of Branch, because I think she does.
Rose's style is somewhere in the pop/rock/AAA vein with an alternative edge. This is not bubble gum, far from it. It's good intelligent pop and her sexy, playful voice is a perfect match.
There are several songs that I can see propelling her to super stardom if they were ever played on the radio. But "Consider Me", "Disaster" (which reminds me of Lisa Loeb) and "Knew You" would all fare well.
"Getting Stronger" actually starts out with a radio dial sound (scanning through the stations).
"High as the Moon" is very pretty and shows the sweeter side of her great voice.
This is a great pop album with the tiniest bit of an edge to it.
