 "See Your Face"
by Joanne Juskus

a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

I reviewed Joanne Juskus debut here some years ago and was impressed by it. This second album sees her continue to make soulful music.

"Holy Man" is beautifully realized, Juskus pure vocal atop a simple melody.

"Gravity" is reminiscent of Joni Mitchell, all calm and measured grace.

The title track is a mid-tempo song that recalls Heather Nova. Juskus sings of positive romantic feelings in a compelling way.

Throughout the album she demonstrates her skill as vocalist and songwriter.

"Rite and Ritual" is grand and mystic in its theme. Juskus angelic vocal and the backing works well.

The folk influence of "Missing you" is sensitively handled.

As sophomore albums go this is prefect.
