 Scattered Among the Archipelago
by Fishing for Comets

a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Fishing for Comets debut album is a nice entry in the pop genre. Frontwoman Camille Cortinas has a sweet voice that suits the music well.

“Hope is calling” is a breezy pop gem that recalls Juliana Hatfield.

“Sunday Mornings” is lovely, Cortinas voice having the same sunny innocence as Frente’s Angie Hart.

“We Are Like Water” is pretty and well constructed. Eric Swanson’s mandolin adds a nice touch.

This record is mostly happy but never cloyingly so, the band have written infectious melodies and performed them with too much skill for that. It’s an invigorating record and it will make you smile.
