a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
The helium-voiced singer who made the great "Moon Hut"
is finally back. Her pop sensibility and songwriting
skills are intact, making her new album a real treat.
"I've got Music" beautifully describes the power of
music. "I've got music, so I've got love, I'm
disco-dancing in the heavens above" sings Fox to a
Beatles-like arrangement.
"Little Piece of Heaven" is
aptly named, boasting a soaring melody and an amazing
vocal.
"Feel Like Crying" features Jon Brion (of Aimee
Mann fame) on slide guitar. The songs sophisticated
pop points towards the Beach Boys in their sixties
heyday.
"Baby, I Want you Back" is disco with a sad heart.
It's only a dance remix away from being a hit.
"Love x10" is equally upbeat but elsewhere Kim Fox is more
poignant. As she is on the folksy "Tread this World
so lightly" for instance. The song is a great way to
end this album.
"Return to Planet Earth" is a triumphant return for
Kim Fox.
