a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
Swiss band Moë's album uses poems by Heinrich Heine set to music by the band. It's an unusual idea, but one that works beautifully. Annette Zemp's vocals are gorgeous and suit the music well.
The title track is a loungey song that carries pleasant echoes of Morcheeba.
"Wicked Street" is darker and has a delightfully crunchy feel. Zemp's siren voice coils around it sweetly.
"Lorelei" uses one of Heine's most famous poems to create a dreamy, sublimely tragic song. Zemp sounds a lot like Björk here.
"Where is the Fire" is hauntingly sparse.
"Reflections" is a fine record that does Heine's poetry justice.
