a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
Caroline Moreau is well versed in chanson and cabaret and gives us lovely readings of classic songs on this album.
Her rendition of Gainsbourg’s “Le Poinconneur des Lilas” is spirited despite the songs ennui.
Later she does the same artists “Accordeon” with equal spirit.
She does more recent fare too as Pink Martini’s “Sympatique” gets a nice airing.
Mostly she sticks with Aznavour and Barbara and does so wonderfully.
Moreau’s sprit and voice is just what the songs need. This is a great little album.
