a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
David Russell and his Sideshow inhabit a colorful world, their mix of influences is rich and varied.
The title track recalls Blur in their nineties prime, the quirky tempo and theatrical touches seem very English.
"Cameras are Running" is a likeable song with an air of "Hunky Dory"-era Bowie. Russell's vocal is gorgeous.
"Blue Light" fuses vaudeville with pop and the hybrid works.
"Waiting for the Moon" is quietly epic, strings and a yearning vocal forming the center of the song.
This record is a multi-faceted, seamlessly produced joy. Russell and his band should be better known than they are.
