Orbit by Monica Schroeder "Orbit "
by Monica Schroeder

a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Monica Schroeder's new album begins with an a cappella song that really shows what a gifted singer she is. After that follows a beautiful record.

"Poison" is a light shuffle of a song with weighty words about a difficult relationship. The song is in the folk-electronic style of Beth Orton.

"Everyday" is a strong song that starts slowly and then builds to a powerful chorus. It shows Schroeder's voice at its most expressive.

The piano ballad "Tonight" is exquisite and has Schroeder sounding like Sarah McLachlan.

"Warmth" lives up to its title and is a passionate song. The backing vocals really lift this one.

"A Lullaby" is a stirring song of comfort.

It's an engaging and truly special album. It's as warm as the embrace of a loved one.
