 One In The Hand
by Geezerbird

a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Geezerbird are an odd band and I say that in the best sense. Their singer Suzanna calls them a cross between Blondie and the Darkness. Fair enough. They're all over the map.

Opener "Edge" sounds like Blondie but with meatier guitars.

"Never Turn Your Back On Mother Earth" is a lovely cover of cult band the Sparks song. Suzanna still sounds less feminine than Russell Mael did.

The bands calling card "Geezerbirds" is fun and energetic.

"Right Now" is a glammy stomp that shows off Suzanna's best vocal.

"Pity" is a slower song and the band do that in an inspired fashion as well.

Geezerbird are a great band all in all.
