a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
Moonraker has a very agreeable trip-hop sound. Their
kind of music has many practitioners, but Moonraker are
talented enough to stand out in any crowd.
"Night with You" is an ultra-sultry number topped by
Kelli Scarr's honeyed vocals.
It brings Morcheeba to mind in a good way. "Organic
Love" is jazzy and persuasive. It recalls early Sade.
"Madeline" has some inspired scratching and is as
dynamic as any spy movie's theme song.
"Dying Sun" uses a frantic pace and edges towards
Björk vocally. The song's atmosphere is very haunting.
It's a rewarding debut that makes Moonraker a band to
watch.
