a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
This is a very nice debut that Caitlin Jane and her
band have made. Her music is alternative rock, but a
good deal more complex than most other records in the
genre. Her voice is silky smooth, but can be assertive
as well.
"The Ocean Between Us" has a laidback vibe and a
yearning theme. Caitlin Jaene captures longing
perfectly in this song. The guitarist Fonzo plays
beautifully here.
"Words of Admiration" has lovely
harmonies and a great tune.
"Run From You" is an edgy piece that shows Caitlin
Jaene's gift for doing good rock songs.
"Forever-Vampire Song" approaches the subject matter
in an intriguing way. Caitlin casts herself as a
vampiress enchanting her victim.
"Meet me after dark, I'll take you from your world" she sings. The music is
eerie and suggestive.
The album ends with the lively
"Andrea". Caitlin Jaene sounds utterly confident and
Fonzo"s playing is amazing.
All in all it's a very well crafted modern rock
record.
