Belladonna is an Italian band in the vein of Lacuna Coil or Nightwish. Their energetic sound comes to the fore on their debut.
Vocalist Luana has a powerful set of pipes and guitarist Dani (no surnames given) supports her well on "Mystical Elysian Love" a strong track. It's worth being played on rock radio.
"Resurrect My Soul" couples a theme of spirituality with an anthemic chorus.
"Houdini" with its quiet and intense passages is dynamic.
"Ghost" is the ballad of the album, an eerie and mystical track. Luana's singing stands out against the piano.
"I wanna be your God" is more lighthearted. Luana singing "I wanna be your dog/I wanna be your Iggy too". Later she pledges to be our Ziggy too.
This album is a neat mix of the dramatic and the playful.
