The Mailman's Daughter
by Adrienne Hamilton

a Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

This is Adrienne Hamilton's debut record and it's a great one.

I love the way this album's sound comes together. It's piano based but there's so much more going on. Including echoey layered vocals. It creates a very rich and appealing sound.

The songwriting is lovely, with interesting melodies and instrumentation that enhances them to create a really nice package. It's quirky to be sure, but not in an off-putting way. Some artists are weird just to be weird, not so here. This is genuine.

I especially like Getaway because of the intricacies of all the parts, and Coming Home for sort of the opposite reason (it's a little more straightforward, though perhaps the most quirky), but really all the songs are good. This is one of the few that will make it into my personal rotation.

This is a great start to what I am sure will be a long career in music. I look forward to hearing what Adrienne Hamilton will do next!
