a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
Richard Citroen and Françoise Hart make up the lovely Lola Dutronic. Their debut was special and so's this new one. As usual they mix their own songs with well-chosen covers and gives the impression of a groovy sixties.
"It's A Lovely Day" is floaty and Hart coos like Sarah Cracknell.
"Le Model" is a neat French version of Kraftwerk's song and it sounds terrific.
The pretty "Song for Edie" evokes sixties icon and tragically lost Edie Sedgwick. Hart's breathless vocals perfectly capture her appeal.
"Sukiyaki" was a hit back in the day and it gets a tranquil reading. Lola Dutronic recapture the glamour and loss of the era and make it relevant today.
