 "The Logic of Love"
by Ripley Caine

a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

Ripley Caine’s been around awhile but this is the first time I’ve heard her. She’s played and written almost everything on the record herself.

Opener "Tongue Tied and Twisted" makes her come across as a new Jane Siberry with an electronica twist.

"The Box" is charmingly eccentric, the busy beats giving the visceral vocal an extra push.

"Corvair 2006" sounds funky, like Ani DiFranco can be. But Caine’s her own woman and this shows in all the songs.

"Me or that" is a memorable pop song, Caine singing of the other woman. It sounds spiteful and utterly lovely.

She’s an acquaintance worth making on this evidence.
