Wow, Fiona Bates has a really powerful voice! It's sultry, gutsy, and sexy.
The songs are well written with interesting melody lines and performed very well, by her band, Room Three. The players are Kyle Robarge (bass), Mike Bishop (lead guitar) and David "Hellcat" Heller (drums).
"Pedestal" is a gorgeous spooky song that reminds me of Jill Tracy at times. I also really like "Virginia".
This is a cool atmospheric record, good for relaxing.
02/13/2005: Note: this CD was previously called "Live at the Hotel Cafe" by Fiona Bates, just in case you're confused. Also the photo here is not the same on that appears on the CD baby site
