 "Live at the Nuthouse"
by Penny Olivier

a Review by Michele Wilson

This 6 track live EP is bound to become a favorite with fans of folk and contemporary music alike! Penny's powerful lyrics speak of the self-reliance and strength in overcoming trials of life as she sings "Yeah, I'll have to bring myself in from the rain." The songs elicit a variety of emotions, that seem to change with each listen. One time through will bring tears of sadness, and the next time, the songs bring out feelings of pride and strength.

Certain to become a favorite track is number 6, "beyond the darkness". It's upbeat tempo brings the cd to an awesome conclusion.

a Review by Sharron D. Anderson

I tend to catagorize various parts of my week kind of like this: laugh of the week; highlight of the week; crapiness of the week; etc.

It was the week of the Presidential election. Though I probably suffer from Adult ADD, I won't go there.

So, let's talk about my friend and co-worker Aimee, who gave me a copy of this cd--very thoughtful. I take a listen. Sweetness!! Ms. Olivier definitely rated as one of the highlights of my week.

The 1st track, The Rain, is one of my favorites. Her voice and lyrics let you know she's been through it--knows how it feels, sounds, tastes, smells. The guitar work is a real treat sprikled generously throughout this cd.

I love accoustic guitar, and Penny's voice was made for it--compliments it like apples compliment cinnamon.

I could go on and on, but I hope you get the opportunity like I did, to take a listen for yourself. I think you will agree; when you hear each song from first to last --the Midwest knows how to grow good music.
