Leona Naess "Leona Naess"
by Leona Naess

a Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

I must confess this is my first real listening of Leona Naess. I realize this is her 3rd CD, I don't know where I was for the rest, but apparently I am late to jump on-board.

Still, upon first listen I felt I'd heard it before. That is not to say that it is derivative, but that it is comfortable, homey.

Her voice at times reminds me of Edie Brickell's but Leona's is more appealing (to me, nothing against Ms. Brickell/Simon).

The opening song "Calling" has a hit potential and what follows is an equally beautiful album.

The music is probably in the genre of Adult Alternative. There is piano, guitar, light drums, and that gorgeous voice.

This is not a party CD but is perfect for sipping wine, laying back and just enjoying the music. Truly gorgeous.

Leona is amazing, her cd's just get better and better. I hope she's with us for a long time. Like good wine, she only gets better with time. A must buy for anyone with at least semi decent taste in music.
