"Kitty Igloo and the Plastic Stereo"
by Suran Song in Stag

a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

The energetic, alternative rock of Suran Song in Stag is back. Suran Song and William Weirs make up the group. The music is still aggressive and bright and Song's vocals are hyper and personal.

"Surveillance Camera Actors" has the catchy and ironic slogans "Decorate punishment! Accelerate relaxation!".

"Do You Sing?" asks "Do you sing like Britney Spears or do you sing like there's something wrong?" Song answers this question with passionate wails.

This group has inherited the art punk mantle that the Slits and the Raincoats left behind.

"Let's Just Eat Cake" is a very late seventies style new wave song. Song's voice is powerful as is Weis' bass-playing.

"Barbie Shaman" is staccato bursts of melody and persuasive singing.

It's a vital and powerful album.
