 "Kick in Your Heart"
by Gliss

a Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

This record is quite different from what I am used to. Most of the stuff I get is folk, pop, rock, Americana or some combination thereof. This is rock, but it's different. It's very reminiscent of the stuff I used to listen to in college, Love & Rockets, Bauhaus (yes, I'm old)

So of course I like it. Quite a bit.

Gliss is made up of three people: David Reiss (guitar, bass guitar, tambourine); Martin Klingman (vocals, guitar, keyboard, bass, drums) and Victoria Cecilia (drum, bass, background vocals, programming and b3 organ).

It's amazing how much sound is coming out of only three people. I guess when you have keyboards and other fun toys it makes the sound a little more full.

There is a lot doing on here. There are the electric guitars and driving drum beats, but also the echoey, growly vocals that go so well with the musical style.

This is a great little record. I say little because it's only 7 songs, but they're all larger than life. This band is getting a lot of attention in England and I can see why. I hope they're success hops the pond.

Stand out Song: "Kick in Your Heart", " Strongest Side of Me".
