Isn't it Pretty To Think So? Waking in the Blue "Isn't it Pretty To Think So?"
by Waking in the Blue

a Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

My initial thought upon first listen was that they reminded me of the late 80s-early 90s group The Sundays. Lead singer, Michelle Coombes voice is not terribly like Harriet Wheeler's but the music is quite similar. Bright, cherry, catchy pop.

The first track "Gum" really is about chewing gum! Well, OK it's about how love/life is like chewing gum when it loses its flavor. It's clever.

The rest of he CD is filled with peppy pop tunes that for some reason take me back in time a little. It's not like anything that I hear on the radio (granted I don't listen to much radio) and feels like it comes from a simpler time. Before techno and beat boxes, sequencers, etc.

It's a good Sunday afternoon CD.
