a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
Marie Schumacher's new album is very nice. Her soft
yet powerful voice works its way through an eclectic
set of songs.
"Everybody Knows" is like a grittier
Sheryl Crow and shows Schumacher's gift for writing
memorable songs.
"Real Problems" is a strong, soulful song that allows
her voice to shine. The band behind her play
wonderfully as well.
She then covers Prince's "When
You Were Mine" and makes it sound like her own song.
"One More Cup" is a bluesy and humorous ode to coffee.
It's a bit like Bonnie Raitt and features lovely
guitars-playing by Schumacher and Steve Gibson.
"Bloodshot Eyes" is a folksy song with a great chorus.
"Inside Looking Out" is a solid, enjoyable record that
should please many.
