a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
This collaboration between Gianlugi Gasporetti and Louisa John-Krol is a meditative and tranquil experience. The instruments used include bamboo flutes, mandolin and wind chimes.
Classically structured songs are largely absent, but as mood music this can hardly be beat. John-Krol's vocals are instruments among the others and work well.
The lovely front cover aptly describes the contents.
The ambient standout "A Vessel for Michael" was written for the singer's father who died in 2003. She writes that she sees him "sailing a boat in the sky". The hauntingly lovely tune is as touching as anything gets.
This is a very brave and inspired piece of work.
