a Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

This is Julia Macklin's second release, the first being an EP she released in 1998 simply called Julia Macklin.

She has a beautiful voice and a talent for writing dynamic and dreamy songs. This is definitely a mood CD. It's very peaceful, filled with sensual melodies and soothing harmonies.

I'm especially fond of "Who Said Anything?" and "So Much Sky". I find myself humming them even when I'm not actually listening to the CD (which isn't often). She also does a beautiful cover of The Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby".

I love this recording. It's been in my CD player almost constantly since it was sent to me. The only criticism would have it to be that it doesn't last long enough. But just keep your CD player on repeat and you'll be happy. In her bio she mentions that she's writing songs for her next CD.
I can hardly wait.
