Goodbye to Yesterday by Joanna Sawter "Goodbye to Yesterday"
by Joanna Sawter

a Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

This is Joanna Sawter's debut CD and it's a great way to start out.

She plays piano/keyboard and also makes use of intricate drums and lush backdrops. Her voice is quite unique, it's deep and resonating but she can hit the high notes as well. She has classical vocal training but this CD is far from classical. There are hint of Latin, Jazz, and country as well as adult contemporary.

"Hear What I Say" has a bit of a funky sound to it, with accent on the bass lines.

The lyrics in "Mother Nature" paint a very pretty picture:

The sun sets in the evening and rises in the morn While rays of light break through the sky So beautifully adorned. Water gently rushes on glistening seashores. Moonlight shimmers on the sea so bright you can't ignore.

…and has a great message about taking care of the Earth.

This is a solid debut.
