 "Give me a Perfect World"
by Sun Palace

a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

The second album by Sun Palace has enough idealistic lyrics and musical sweetness to be New Age, but it’s a great deal more solid than most such records.

The band singer/songwriter/keyboardist Andriette Redmann has the talent to make it special.

“Round and Round” is lushly produced and has some astonishing singing.

“Going to California” is a nice Led Zeppelin cover. There are times when Redmann’s voice swoops and glides eerily like Robert Plant’s but mostly she sounds like herself.

“Familiar Voices” is a dreamy song of longing.

“Man of the Severn Wave” is sweetly layered like Stevie Nicks songs can be.

The closing “Under the Moon” is another lovely number, strong rhythms supporting the melody.

It’s a pretty special record.
