For He Who Suffers by Two Steps to Infinity "For He Who Suffers"
by Two Steps to Infinity

a Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds

Two Steps to Infinity is Jill Beckman on vocals, guitarist Neil Engelman, bassist Cak Papgorio, and JB Fenter on drums.

Their bio compares them to Blondie, The Smashing Pumpkins, Metallica and The Deftones. I can see the Blondie reference only in that this band has a slight 80s sound to it (which is a good thing, in my book).

The music is solid rock with a hard edge, lots of wailing guitar and strong drum beats.

Jill Beckman's voice tends to get a little screetchy (and even goes off key, intentional?) at times but otherwise is a good match for the music.

"Decent" is probably my favorite track as it has lots going on and really transports me back to the 80s.

The last track "Possession" is a wild ten-minute jam and is a good way to end the CD.

It's always hard to capture this on a recording but I have a feeling this band is another one that is fabulous live.
